Importance and distribution

Cylindrosympodium comprises eight species known on leaves of Cryptocarya mackinnoniana (Lauraceae), Pasania edulis (Fagaceae), leaf litter of Laurus (Lauraceae), decaying leaf of Liquidambar styraciflua (Altingiaceae), leaves of Nectandra coriacea (Lauraceae), rotten needles of Pinus sylvestris (Pinaceae) and dead leaf of Rhododendron formosum (Ericaceae). Cylindrosympodium has been reported from Africa (Canary Island), Asia (Japan, Taiwan), Australia, Europe (Netherlands) and North America (Caribbean (Cuba)).
