Importance and distribution

Neokalmusia comprises six species. Neokalmusia arundinis is known on dead stems of Arundo pliniana (Poaceae) in Europe (Italy), N. brevispora is known from dead twigs of Sasa sp. (Poaceae) in Asia (Japan), while N. didymospora, N. kunmingensis, N. scabrispora and N. thailandica are known on dead bamboo Bambusoideae (Poaceae) in Asia (China, Thailand).
