Montagnula infernalis

Montagnula infernalis (Niessl) Berl., Icon. fung. (Abellini) 2(2-3): 68 (1896).

Importance and distribution

There are 44 records of Montagnula in Index Fungorum (2022), but some species have been transferred to Chaetomastia, Cucurbitaria, Paramassariosphaeria and Pseudodidymosphaeria. Montagnula comprises 33 species known on several host plants within Asparagaceae, Asphodelaceae, Asteraceae, Caprifoliaceae and Poaceae. Montagnula is known from Asia (Hong Kong, Thailand), Europe (Italy, Portugal), South Africa (KwaZulu-Natal) and The United States (Texas).
