Importance and distribution

There are 36 records of Kalmusia in Index Fungorum (2022), but some species have been transferred to Cryptosphaeria, Eutypa, Neokalmusia and Paraconiothyrium. Kalmusia comprises 27 species known on wide range of host families such as Actinidiaceae, Anacardiaceae, Apiaceae, Asteraceae, Fabaceae, Myrtaceae, Oleaceae, Poaceae, Rubiaceae and Sapindaceae. There are records of Kalmusia from Asia (Philippines, Russian Federation), Europe (France, United Kingdom), South America (Argentina, Brazil, Chile) and The United States (Ohio).
