Importance and distribution

Placosoma comprises two species. Placosoma nothopanacis was found on living leaves of Nothopanax colensoi (Araliaceae) in New Zealand while P. salvadorae was reported on leaves of Salvadora persica (Salvadoraceae) in Asia (India-Rajasthan).
