Importance and distribution

Species of Rosenscheldiella are associated with leaf spot. Rosenscheldiella comprises 19 species known on wide range of plants such as Brachyglottis repanda (Asteraceae), Cinnamomum japonicum (Lauraceae), Cinnamomum zeylanicum (Lauraceae), Dysoxylum fraserianum (Meliaceae), Eugenia heyneana (Myrtaceae), Hevea sp. (Euphorbiaceae), Korthalsella clavata (Viscaceae), Mesua ferrea (Calophyllaceae) and Neolitsea sericea (Lauraceae). Rosenscheldiella seems to be host specific and each species occur on a particular host genus or family. Rosenscheldiella is reported from several countries including Asia (China (Taiwan), India, Japan), Oceania (Australia, New Zealand) and South America (Brazil, Uruguay). Rosenscheldiella seems to have high diversity, but several species lack molecular data hence, requires revision.
