Importance and distribution
There are 15 Graphyllium epithets in Index Fungorum (2022), but four species have been transferred to Clathrospora, Diademosa and Pleospora. Graphyllium comprises ten species known on a wide range of plants such as Andropogon sp. (Poaceae), Aristida longiseta (Poaceae), Artemisia frigida (Asteraceae), Bouteloua gracilis (Poaceae), Eleocharis palustris (Cyperaceae), Juncus balticus (Juncaceae), Panicum virgatum (Poaceae), Phragmites communis (Poaceae), Sorghastrum nutans (Poaceae) and Sporobolus asper (Poaceae). Graphyllium has wide distribution including Asia (Uzbekistan), Europe (Denmark, Georgia, Ukraine), North America (Canada) and The United States (Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington). An attempt to re-collect Graphyllium must be made as sequence data is lacking for this genus.
