Importance and distribution

There are 61 Gloniopsis epithets in Index Fungorum (2022), but several species have been transferred to Allographa, Ericboehmia, Fouragea, Glonium, Hysterium, Hysteronaevia, Leptopeltis and Terriera. Gloniopsis comprises 30 species known on several host plants such as Acer pseudoplatanus (Sapindaceae), Betula verrucosa (Betulaceae), Cistus sp. (Cistaceae), Eucalyptus globulus (Myrtaceae), Fagus sp. (Fagaceae), Francoa sonchifolia (Francoaceae), Fraxinus excelsior (Oleaceae), Juglans regia (Juglandaceae), Lonicera etrusca (Caprifoliaceae), Quercus sp. (Fagaceae), Satureja thymbra (Lamiaceae) amongst others. Gloniopsis is distributed worldwide.
