Importance and distribution
There are 28 Rhopographus epithets in Index Fungorum (2022), but several species have been transferred to Exarmidium, Massariosphaeria, Metasphaeria, Microdochium, Rhopographella, Rhopographina, Roussoella, Scirrhia and Setoseptoria. Rhopographus comprises 11 species known on Andropogon furcatus (Poaceae), Bambusa blumeana (Poaceae), Erianthus formosanus var. pollinoides (Poaceae), Guadua pallida (Poaceae), Gynerium saccharoides (Poaceae), Phragmites communis (Poaceae), Pteridium aquilinum (Dennstaedtiaceae), Pteris sp. (Pteridaceae), Rhynchospora glomerata (Cyperaceae) and Setaria glauca (Poaceae). Rhopographus is reported from Asia (Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan), Europe (Denmark, Georgia, Greece, Poland, Sweden, United Kingdom), South America (Brazil) and the United States (California, Hawaii, Iowa, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin).
