Description:
Saprobic on leaves. Sexual morph: Ascomata 100–115 μm diam., 25–55 μm high, superficial, solitary to gregarious, scattered or in group, globose to subglobose, subcuticular, very thin, strongly depressed rounded or broadly ellipsoidal, almost shield-shaped, initially closed, at maturity raised by a short, simple somewhat lobed rupture opening by a hyaline pseudoparenchymatic internal tissue. Peridium 5.5–9.5 μm, composed of reddish-brown cells of textura angularis. Hamathecium 1.7–2.0 μm, of wide, scarce, hyaline, branched, septate, cellular pseudoparaphyses. Asci 35−40 × 9−10 µm (x̄ = 38.6 × 9.5 µm, n = 10), 8-spored, bitunicate, fissitunicate, oblong-clavate, slightly curved, sessile or with knob-like pedicel, thickened at the apex with a small ocular chamber. Ascospores 7.5−10.3 × 3−5 µm (x̄ = 9.8 × 4.2 µm, n = 10), biseriate, fusoid-ellipsoid, rounded and subacute at the ends, hyaline, one-celled, with granular appearance. Asexual morph: Unknown.
