Importance and distribution

Asymmetrispora comprises two species. Asymmetrispora mariae is known from submerged wood of Robinia pseudoacacia (Fabaceae) in Europe (France) while A. tennesseensis has been reported from decorticated branches in the United States (Tennessee).
