Importance and distribution
Mycophycias comprises two endophytic species in algae. Mycophycias apophlaeae is known on dried Apophlaea lyallii (Hildenbrandiaceae) in New Zealand. Mycophycias ascophylli was reported from living receptacles of Ascophylum nodosum (Phaeophyceae) in Europe (United Kingdom).
