Importance and distribution

Platypeltella comprises three species known on leaves of Chamaedorea (Arecaceae) in North America (Mexico), leaves of Puya (Bromeliaceae) in South America (Colombia), and living leaves of Smilax (Smilacaceae) in Central America (Costa Rica).
