Importance and role

Importance of genus to ecosystem

Species of Cylindrosympodioides are saprobic or pathogenic. As saprobes, they can help in nutrient recycling in the ecosystem. As pathogen, they can cause disease of host plants.

Industrial relevance and applications

The industrial applications of Cylindrosympodioides has not been investigated.

Quarantine significance

The biocontrol properties of Cylindrosympodioides has not been reported.

Biochemical importance of the genus, chemical diversity or applications

The chemical application of Cylindrosympodioides has not been studied.

Diversity of the genus

Cylindrosympodioides comprises only one species known on Brabejum stellatifolium (Proteaceae) in South Africa. Cylindrosympodioides is a poorly studied genus and more species discovery is needed.
