Importance and distribution

Species of Tyrannosorus are saprophytic and may be involved in decomposition of organic matters and nutrition recycling, particularly in the nitrogen cycling. Tyrannosorus comprises five species known on four hosts in Rosaceae, Parmeliaceae and Pinaceae. Tyrannosorus is recorded from Asia (Pakistan), Europe (Germany) and The United States.
