Role and distribution
Species of Sympodiella are dematiaceous hyphomycetes inhabiting dead needles of Pinus (Pinaceae), and leaves of Fagus sylvatica (Fagaceae), Quercus (Fagaceae) and Roystonea regia (Arecaceae). Sympodiella is reported from Asia (India, Japan) and Europe (Germany, Italy, United Kingdom).
