Importance and distribution

Podonectria comprises nine species known on various insects (Aleyrodidae, Coccoidea, Diaspididae, Homoptera, Lepidosaphes sp., on Citrus sp. (Rutaceae), Gahnia sp. (Cyperaceae) and Podocarpus ferrugineus (Podocarpaceae). Podonectria is reported from Asia (Brunei Darussalam, Sri Lanka, Taiwan), North America (Caribbean (Puerto Rico), The United States), Oceania (New Zealand, Papua New Guinea), South Africa and South America (Brazil).
