Importance and distribution

Chlamydotubeufia comprises five species known on decaying wood in freshwater stream, rotten petiole of Palmae (Arecaceae) and dead wood of Pinus (Pinaceae). Three species C. aquatica, C. helicospora and C. khunkornensis have been transferred to Dematiohelicomyces, Helicohyalinum and Neochlamydotubeufia. Chlamydotubeufia is reported from Asia (Thailand) and the United States (Ecuador, Panama).
