Pseudopyrenula diluta

Importance and distribution

Pseudopyrenula comprises 20 species known in forest on twigs, dead Staphylea rufa (Chrysomelidae) and fissured bark of Vochysia venulosa (Vochysiaceae). Pseudopyrenula cerei, P. cryptotheca, P. cubana, P. dubia, P. endoxantha and P. saxicola have a neotropical distribution. Pseudopyrenula endoxanthoides and P. papuana are Eastern palaeotropical reported from Asia (Thailand) and Australia (Papua New Guinea), P. staphyleae is reported from North America (The United States), P. subgregaria is pantropical and known from Asia, Australia, Caribbean and Central America while P. subnudata is pantropical (Aptroot and Lücking 2016).
