Importance and distribution

Clypeococcum comprises nine lichenicolous species known on thallus of Cetrelia olivetorum (Parmeliaceae), Flavocetraria cucullata (Parmeliaceae) and Hypocenomyce scalaris (Ophioparmaceae). Clypeococcum is reported from Asia (Russia), Europe (Bulgaria, United Kingdom) and South America (Ecuador).
