Importance and distribution
Superstratomyces comprises four species. Superstratomyces albomucosus has been isolated from wood of Pycnanthus angolensis (Myristicaceae) impregnated with olive oil, S. atroviridis from Pinus sylvestris (Pinaceae) impregnated with linseed oil, S. flavomucosus from leaf of Hakea multilineata (Proteaceae) and S. tardicrescens from darkened surface of a house wall. Superstratomyces has been reported from Australia and Europe (Netherlands, Spain).
