Importance and distribution

Phyllobathelium comprises five lichenized species known on leaves in shady rain-forest, understorey of Sorocea (Moraceae) and Leguminosae. Phyllobathelium is reported from America (Amazon, Brazil, Ecuador), Australia (Fiji) and Caribbean (Trinidad-Tobago).
