Importance and distribution
There are 15 Zopfia epithets in Index Fungorum (2022), but several species have been transferred to Celtidia, Lepidosphaeria, Neotestudina, Pontoporeia, Rechingeriella, Richonia, Testudina, Ulospora and Zopfiofoveola. Zopfia comprises five species known on roots of Albizia lebbeck (Fabaceae), Carex firma (Cyperaceae), soil of Juniperus wood (Cupressaceae), dry roots of Asparagus (Asparagaceae) and sea water on bark of Coniferae (Cupressaceae). Zopfia is reported from Asia (Japan, Pakistan), Europe (Austria, Germany) and The United States (Texas).
