The sexual morph is unknown. Parathyridariella is phylogenetically closely related to Cycasicola, Liua and Thyridariella. Parathyridariella however, has a unique morphology and is phylogenetically a distinct genus in Thyridariaceae. Molecular markers available for Parathyridariella include ITS, LSU, SSU, TEF-1 and RPB2.
