Importance and distribution
Shrungabeeja comprises five species known on branches of Begonia semperflorens (Begoniaceae), dead twig of Chusquea longifolia (Poaceae), dead branches of Melicope triphylla (Rutaceae) and dead stems of Bambusa (Poaceae). Shrungabeeja is reported from Asia (China, India (Karnataka) and Thailand) and Central America (Panama).
