Importance and distribution
Polyplosphaeria comprises four species known on bamboo (Poaceae), Chimonobambusa marmorea (Poaceae), Pandanus (Pandanaceae), Phyllostachys bambusoides (Poaceae), Pleioblastus chino (Poaceae) and Sasa kurilensis (Poaceae). Polyplosphaeria xishuangbannaensis has been transferred to Ernakulamia. Polyplosphaeria has been reported from Asia (China, Japan and Thailand).
