Importance and distribution

Only two species have been reported. Striatiguttula nypae was isolated from Nypa fruticans and S. phoenicis from Phoenix paludosa, both hosts belonging to the Arecaceae and growing on the Andaman Sea (west) coastline in Asia (Thailand).
