Importance and distribution

Salsuginea comprises three species. Salsuginea phoenicis is known on decaying petiole of Phoenix paludosa (Arecaceae). Salsuginea ramicola is reported on wood of intertidal Aegiceras (Primulaceae) while S. rhizophorae has been reported on decaying submerged wood of Rhizophora apiculata (Rhizophoraceae). All three species are known from Asia (Thailand).
