Pseudocoleodictyospora Doilom & K.D. Hyde, in Doilom et al., Fungal Diversity: 10.1007/s13225-016-0368-7, [28] (2016).

Index Fungorum number: IF 551980; Facesoffungi number: FoF 01857, 3 morphological species (Species Fungorum 2022), 3 species with molecular data.

Saprobic on dead wood of T. grandis. Sexual morph: Unknown. Asexual morph: Colonies on natural substrate, superficial, punctiform, sporodochial, gregarious, scattered, numerous, black. Hyphae pale brown to brown, septate, slightly constricted at septa. Conidiophores micronematous, erect to slightly curved, constricted at septa, arising from hyphae. Conidiogenous cells blastic, integrated, terminal, determinate. Conidia dictyosporous to bulbil-like, muriform, initially pale brown, becoming brown to dark brown, horizontal on conidiogenous cell, very variable in size and shape; globose to ellipsoidal to irregular, with a protruding basal cell; truncate at base (adapted from Doilom et al. 2016).

Type species: Pseudocoleodictyospora tectonae Doilom, D.J. Bhat & K.D. Hyde

Notes: Pseudocoleodictyospora resembles Coleodictyospora in having dark sporodochia, and dictyosporous, to bulbil-like, muriform, horizontal conidia produced on conidiogenous cell, but Pseudocoleodictyospora differs from Coleodictyospora in lacking a hyaline sheath. Molecular markers available for Pseudocoleodictyospora are ITS, LSU, SSU and RPB2.
