Index Fungorum number: IF 820934; Facesoffungi number: FoF 08235, 1 morphological species (Species Fungorum 2021), 1 species with molecular data.

Saprobic on leaves. Sexual morph: Unknown. Asexual morph: Conidiomata solitary, erumpent, globose, dark brown with central ostiole, exuding a white conidial mass; wall of 3–8 layers of brown textura angularis.              Type species: Perthomyces podocarpi Crous

Notes: Perthomyces is characterised by dark brown solitary conidiomata, hyaline, smooth, ampulliform to doliiform conidiogenous cells and hyaline aseptate conidia. The taxonomic placement of Perthomyces is uncertain and is currently in Pleosporales genera incertae sedis. More collections are required to determine the correct position of Perthomyces.
