Importance and role
Importance of genus to ecosystem
Species of Inflatispora are saprobic and helps in decomposition of organic matter in the ecosystem.
Industrial relevance and applications
The industrial use of Inflatispora has not been investigated.
Quarantine significance
No disease has been reported from Inflatispora.
Biochemical importance of the genus, chemical diversity or applications
The chemical diversity of Inflatispora has not been investigated.
Diversity of the genus
Inflatispora comprises two species known on dead rachis of Caryota (Arecaceae) in Thailand and on decorticated wood of Rhamnus alpina (Rhamnaceae) in forest litter in France. The diversity of Inflatispora is still poorly understood. Inflatispora may comprise many more species that needs to be discovered and described.
