Importance and distribution
Dangeardiella comprises two species. Dangeardiella fusiformis is reported on dead petioles of Dryopteris filix-mas (Dryopteridaceae) in Europe (Switzerland). Information regarding the host and geographical distribution is lacking for the second and type species, D. macrospora. The material observed by Thambugala et al. (2014) is from Europe (Sweden) on dead stalk of Athyrium alpestre (Athyriaceae).
