Importance and distribution

Cyclothyrium comprises two species known on leaves of Bauhinia (Fabaceae) in South America (Brazil (Amazonas)). According to Index Fungorum (2022), the type species Cyclothyrium ulmicola has been synonymized to Aposphaeria ulmicola. This synonymy is still unclear. There is need to collect more species of Cyclothyrium to gather knowledge on this genus.
