Importance and distribution
Pteridiospora comprises six saprobic species known on bamboo (Poaceae), Liquidambar styraciflua (Altingiaceae), on branches of Quercus pedunculiflora (Fagaceae), Phoenix sylvestris (Arecaceae) and roots of Fraxinus pennsylvanica (Oleaceae). Pteridiospora is known from Asia (China (Taiwan), India, Indonesia, Thailand), Eurasia (Republic of Azerbaijan) and The United States (Mississippi).
