Importance and distribution

According to Species Fungorum (2022), Neostagonospora comprises six species known on six different host plants and three plant families, Cyperaceae, Poaceae and Restionaceae. Neostagonospora artemisiae was found on dead and dying stems of Artemisia austriaca (Asteraceae) in South European Russia. Neostagonospora has been reported from Africa (Western Cape Province), Asia (China (Taiwan), South European Russia), Australia and Europe (Italy, Netherlands).
