Importance and distribution

Hydeomyces comprises two species. Hydeomyces desertipleosporoides has been reported on dead bark of Juniperus excelsa (Cupressaceae) in Asia (Oman) while H. pinicola was found on dead wood of Pinus (Pinaceae) in Asia (China (Guizhou)).
