Importance and distribution

Morosphaeria comprises four species known on decaying wood and twigs of Rhizophora spp. (Rhizophoraceae) in Africa (Seychelles), Asia (India (Tamil Nadu), Thailand) and South America (Chile). Morosphaeria elaterascus is known on dead wood from a thermal stream in South America (Chile).
