Importance and distribution

There are nine Bertiella epithets in Index Fungorum (2022), but three species have been transferred to Kirschsteinia and Rosenscheldia. Bertiella comprises six species known on wood of Ulmus (Ulmaceae), dead leaves of Ficus septica (Moraceae) and Cyrilla (Cyrillaceae). Bertiella is reported from Asia (Andaman Islands, China (Taiwan), Thailand), South America (Brazil (Ceará) and The United States (Ohio, South Carolina).
