Importance and distribution

Cryptoclypeus comprises two species known on Pandanus sp. (Pandanaceae) in Asia (Thailand). Cryptoclypeus oxysporus is known on dead culm of Sasa while C. ryukyuensis has been reported on dead culm of Pleioblastus linearis (Poaceae) in Japan (Honshu and Nansei-shoto respectively).
