Importance and distribution

Lophiopoacea comprises two species. Lophiopoacea paramacrostoma has been reported on Arundo pliniana (Poaceae) in Europe (Italy), while L. winteri was found on dead branches of Helianthemum (Cistaceae) in Europe (Switzerland).
