Importance and distribution

Industrial relevance and applications

Paguigan et al. (2016) reported Lindgomyces madisonensis (G416) produces acetophenone derivatives which is used for fragrance in soaps and perfumes or as flavoring agent in foods. There are 13 species of Lindgomyces known on submerged wood in freshwater habitats and wood of Alnus glutinosa (Betulaceae). Lindgomyces is known from Asia (Japan), Europe (France) and The United States (North Carolina, Tennessee, Wisconsin).
