Importance and distribution
There are 12 Lentithecium epithets in Index Fungorum (2022), but seven species have been transferred to Halobyssothecium, Keissleriella and Setoseptoria. Lentithecium comprises ten species known on Alnus glutinosa (Betulaceae), Fraxinus excelsior (Oleaceae), Phragmites sp. (Poaceae), Platanus sp. (Platanaceae) and Populus sp. (Salicaceae). Lentithecium is reported from Asia (Japan) and Europe (Belgium, Denmark, France, United Kingdom).
