Lentimurispora

Lentimurispora N.G. Liu, Bhat & K.D. Hyde, in Liu et al., Cryptog. Mycol. 39(2): 270 (2018).

Index Fungorum number: IF 824921; Facesoffungi number: FoF 04591, 1 morphological species (Species Fungorum 2022), 1 species with molecular data.

Saprobic on dead wood. Sexual morph: Unknown. Asexual morph: Colonies on natural substrate superficial, black, scattered, gregarious, velvety, punctiform. Mycelium immersed. Conidiomata sporodochial. Conidiophores micronematous, forming sporodochia. Conidiogenous cells monoblastic, holoblastic, integrated, hyaline, wedge-shaped. Conidia smooth, multiseptate, constricted at the septa, muriform, lenticular with dark brown central cells and pale-colored peripheral cells (adapted from Liu et al. 2018).

Type species: Lentimurispora urniformis N.G. Liu, McKenzie & K.D. Hyde

Notes: Lentimurispora was introduced by Liu et al. (2018) with L. urniformis as type species. Lentimurispora is characterised by superficial, black colonies, micronematous conidiophores forming sporodochia, monoblastic, holoblastic conidiogenous cells and acrogenous, multiseptate conidia. Lentimurispora is closely related to Bahusandhika and is a distinct genus both morphologically and phylogenetically within Lentimurisporaceae. Molecular markers available for Lentimurispora include LSU. SSU and TEF-1
