Importance and distribution

Hermatomyces comprises 28 species known on several host plants families Apocynaceae, Arecaceae, Cyatheaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Fabaceae, Lamiaceae, Oxalidaceae, Pandanaceae, Pinaceae and Smilacaceae. Hermatomyces is reported from Africa (Ghana, Sierra Leone), Asia (China, Hong Kong, India, Thailand), Caribbean (Cuba), North America (Mexico, The United States), South America (Argentina) and Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).
