Description cannot be located.

Type species: Leptocucurthis quadrata Aptroot

Notes: Leptocucurthis is characterised by unbranched pseudoparaphyses, ostiole slit-like to stellate, with 3–6 radiate splits, and hyaline, elongate fusiform to subcylindrical, uniseptate ascospores (Hyde et al. 2013). Aptroot and van Iperen (1998) placed Leptocucurthis in Dacampiaceae based on morphological similarities with Sinodidymella. Barr (2002) transferred Leptocucurthis to Teichosporaceae. Leptocucurthis differs from members of Dacampia in having ascomata with a slit-like to stellate ostiole with 3–6 radiate splits, unbranched pseudoparaphyses, and long-fusiform to cylindrical, hyaline, uniseptate ascospores (Doilom et al. 2018). Hongsanan et al. (2020a) suggested that Leptocucurthis might belong to Hysteriaceae as it has a slit-like opening that discharge the spores but did not transfer the genus to Hysteriaceae. We follow Doilom et al. (2018) and Hongsanan et al. (2020a) and list Leptocucurthis as a distinct genus in Dacampiaceae until further studies are carried out on the genus. Fresh collections and DNA sequence data are needed to confirm the taxonomic placement of Leptocucurthis.
