Pathogenic to human. Sexual morph: Unknown. Asexual morph: Conidiomata pycnidial, brown, solitary or confluent, superficial, pycnidial wall of textura angularis, glabrous, subglobose to ovoid, ostiolate. Conidiogenous cells phialidic, hyaline, smooth-walled, ampulliform. Conidia aseptate, hyaline, smooth- and thin walled, cylindrical to allantoid, guttulate (Adapted from Valenzuela-Lopez et al. 2018).

 

Type species: Allocucurbitaria botulispora Valenz.-Lopez, Stchigel, Guarro & J.F. Cano

 

Notes: Allocucurbitaria was introduced by Valenzuela-Lopez et al. (2017) with A. botulispora as type species. Allocucurbitaria is characterized by brown pycnidial conidiomata, phialidic conidiogenous cells and aseptate hyaline conidia. Allocucurbitaria is similar to phoma-like taxa but is phylogenetically distinct and belongs to Cucurbitariaceae.
