Importance and distribution

Murispora comprises eight species. Murispora aquatica was found on submerged decaying wood in Asia (China (Yunnan)), M. cardui was reported on dead stems of Carduus (Asteraceae) in Europe (Italy), M. cicognanii is known on dead branches of Clematis (Ranunculaceae) in Europe (Italy), M. fagicola was found on dead branches of Fagus sylvatica (Fagaceae) in Europe (Italy), M. galii was reported on dead twigs of Galium (Rubiaceae) in Europe (Italy), M. hawksworthii is known on dead stem of umbellifer (Apiaceae) in Europe (Italy), M. medicaginicola was reported on dead stems of Medicago (Fabaceae) in Europe (Italy), M. rubicunda is known on submerged dead herbaceous stem in Europe (France).
