Importance and distribution
Xenosonderhenia comprises three species known on three host plants in two plant families Cecropiaceae and Myrtaceae. They inhabit leaf surface as asymptomatic mutualists, benign commensals or latent pathogens (Dubey et al. 2019). Xenosonderhenia is reported mainly from Africa (Mozambique, South Africa) and South America (Brazil).
