Importance and distribution

Stromatoseptoria comprises one species known on leaves of Castanea in Europe (France). The genus seems to have wide distribution within Europe (Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands and Slovakia).

 

Quarantine significance

Stromatoseptoria cause leaf spots disease on Castanea vesca (Fagaceae) and is of quarantine significance.
