Septoriopsis Gonz. Frag. & M.J. Paúl, in González Fragoso, Bol. Real Soc. Esp. Hist. Nat., 15: 127 (1915).

Associated with leaf spot. Sexual morph: Unknown. Asexual morph: Pycnidia on leaf spots, superficial, membraneous-carbonaceous, usually caespitose, globose to conoid. Conidia bacilliform, hyaline, usually uniseptate, formed at the apex of filiform conidiophores (adapted from Videira et al. 2017).

 

Type species: Septoriopsis citri Gonz. Frag. & M.J. Paúl

 

Notes: Septoriopsis is characterised by filiform conidiophores, bacilliform, hyaline, usually uniseptate conidia. The placement of Septoriopsis in Mycosphaerellaceae is doubtful. Fresh collections with DNA sequence data are needed to confirm the generic position of Septoriopsis.
